Physical Disabilities
We have a range of specialist equipment and adaptive surf coaches with a great deal of experience in para surfing. We also have a fantastic agreement with Beach Access North East, which gives us access to their beach accessible wheelchairs for transfers in to the water.
Blyth South Beach, where we operate all of our adaptive sessions, has fantastic accessibility, including plenty of disability parking bays, disability toilets and changing rooms, and sloped access to the beach.
Physical Disabilities Group
Throughout the summer our physical disabilities sessions run weekly on a Monday. This group is suitable for participants who want to try out surfing and those who want regular coaching for development. From this group we are looking to develop a team of para surfers, to compete in our local competition in September 2025.
Taster Sessions
Throughout the summer of 2025 we are running these free events to introduce as many people to adaptive surfing as possible. These events are suitable for anybody aged 6+ and we actively encourage adults to try surfing too.
Competition
The world of para surfing is growing quickly and Team England perform incredibly well. We are running a local para surfing competition in September 2025 for anybody who would like to get a taste of competitive surfing.
